POSITION TITLE:    Extended School Year Paraprofessional (Classroom Para, Personal Care Assistant and/or 1:1)

 

REPORTS TO:         Classroom Teacher/ Supervisor of Special Education 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• 7/1/24-7/25/24
• Monday - Thursday (4 days/week)
• 8:45am-12:15pm (4.5hours/day)
• MUST attend a one day MANDATORY three hour training held on 6/15/24

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 48 College credits, ParaEd Certification and/or willingness to obtain ParaEd Certification.

• Experience with Special Education is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.

• Must have good organizational skills, maintain confidentiality and be flexible.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Support Students who receive special education services in special education, general education, one to one situations and/or small groups.
• Reinforce appropriate or replacement behavior or provide scheduled reinforcement.
• Document progress toward the student's goals.
• Support teachers by completing paperwork and clerical duties as required.

• Attend District training sessions.

PREEMPLOYMENT PAPERWORK REQUIREMENTS:

• PA State Police Clearance (Act 34)
• Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
• FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114)
• School Personnel Health Form (Physical and TB test)
• PDE 6004 Form (Act 24)
• Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release Form(s)
